Cheap Vehicle Insurance, How Much Vehicle Insurance Do You Need
Your main goal should be to protect yourself in case of a serious accident. Often times people tend to buy only their state minimum required coverage’s. However, state minimum coverage gives you minimal protection and is not enough to protect the assets of most drivers. If you do not have enough coverage on your auto policy and a serious accident occurs, your personal assets could be at risk to settle an insurance claim.
Also it is advised that just having liability is not enough, in order to protect yourself you should also have Uninsured/Underinsured motorists coverage (some state require this coverage others will let you wave Uninsured/Underinsured motorist from your vehicle policy). Usually your Uninsured/Underinsured limits are the same as your liability limits. So if you have state minimum liability you have those same limits for your Uninsured/Underinsured. Many insurance companies/agents would advise a minimum of 100,000/300,000 bodily injury liability with matching Uninsured/Underinsured limits. With both of these coverage’s it will protect you if you are sued or in an accident with an uninsured or underinsured motorist.
